The 10th China International Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) opened at 8:00 p.m. on Oct. 11. at Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center.
To commemorate the 10th Hi-Tech Fair and express appreciation on individuals and groups that have contributed a lot to the fair in the past 10 years, a total of more than 1,200 individuals and groups will be awarded by the Hi-tech fair Organizing Committee," Shenzhen Mayor Xu Zongheng said at the opening ceremony.
This year's fair is of significance because 2008 marks the 30th anniversary of China's reform and opening up. China economy has made great achievements in the over 30 years. China has become the third largest trade country and the economic cooperation between China and other countries have been strenghthened," said Jiang Yaoping, vice Minister of Commerce.
Leaders and representatives from research institutes, enterprises, foreign government organizations attended the hi-tech fair. Distinguished guests include Sang Guowei, Vice head of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, Li Jinhua, Vice Chairman of National Political Consultative Conference and Wan Gang, Vice Chairman of National Political Consultative Conference and Minister of Ministry of Science and Technology.
The hi-tech fair has become the biggest and most influential science and technology fair in China.
